Another meeting of Japan’s fashion elite with Nike, we are given a preview into an upcoming collaborative effort between Under Cover and fragment design. Seen on a new (or rarely seen) model, the sneaker features a thick sole with a style almost reminiscent of the Cortez with less obsessive overlays. The upper is devoid of any large Swooshes choosing a more conservative embroidered route. Both the Under Cover and fragment design logos are printed around the edge of the vulcanized midsole. These will release January 3rd exclusively at the Nike Sportswear store in Shibuya and Under Cover stores around Japan.

Boasting a famous shop owner in Asian actor and singing sensation Jay Chou, PHANTACi and Nike have paired on a special commemorative pack featuring both an Air Max 1 and leather jacket. Title “The Grand”, the pack is inspired by grand pianos with hints of ivory keys linked to the use of black and white with the store color PHANTACi pink integrated as well. The insole also includes a piano key print. Also within the pack is a full grain leather jacket which features Tech-Pack-esque innovation with waterproof zippers. These are not destined to be commercially available at this time.

COMME des GARCONS and Nike prepare for another collaboration on the Dunk High. The visual integrity of the Dunk High is largely changed as the traditional basketball silhouette of the Dunk undergoes a more boot-like profile. The dramatic rise of the toebox and the black leather upper with a large zipper up the center is an appropriate approach for the Japanese brand who has been the subject of much fanfare for their avant grade and innovative styles. The back of the Dunk does offer a glimpse of its former self with the recognizable heel lines and center seam. No word yet on availability.

A new pic of SAMPLE STASH x Nike Air Force 1 Highs recently hit the Net. Following up on the 1VOTE voted “Best AF1 of All Time” STASH High 1, these new STASH Air Force 1 Highs feature STASH’s trademark “Fat Cap” design pattern in what appears to be Velvet on Back leather on the strap and mid panel. The rest of the upper features a carbon fiber pattern like Black leather which sits on a White midsole and Black outsole.

As of now, the STASH x Nike Air Force 1 High (Round 2 or 3 if you count the Tokyo and NYC High) is only in SAMPLE form and has yet to hit production.
